Royalty Medical Transportation provides wheelchair accessible rides across Greater Houston, seven days a week, around the clock. You stay in your own wheelchair for the entire trip. Our driver meets you at your door, helps you safely into the vehicle, secures the chair, and walks with you all the way to the check-in desk at the other end.
We are a private pay service. That means you book directly with us, you get your price before the trip, and there is no case manager, no approval process and no waiting on a third party to authorize the ride. For many families that is the difference between making an appointment and missing it.
We serve Houston, Sugar Land, Katy, Pearland, League City and Galveston, including the Texas Medical Center and hospitals, dialysis centers, rehabilitation clinics and senior communities throughout the area. We accommodate every type of wheelchair, from manual chairs to power chairs, scooters and bariatric wheelchairs, and every one of our drivers is CPR and First Aid certified.
Wheelchair transport is not one kind of trip. These are the rides we handle most often.
Dialysis runs on a fixed schedule and missing a session is not an option. We set up standing recurring trips so the same ride is booked for every session without you calling each time. Because treatment often leaves people weak and unsteady, our driver waits or returns at the agreed time and helps you back into your home, not just to the curb.
Many outpatient procedures will not release you unless someone is there to take you home, and a rideshare driver cannot help a patient who is groggy or unsteady get from the door to the car and then safely inside at the other end. We can. Call us when discharge is being planned and we will be there when the paperwork is done.
Regular visits to a primary care doctor, cardiologist, oncologist, wound care clinic or imaging center. We build in time for traffic and parking so you arrive before you are due, not after.
Therapy only works if you attend consistently. Recurring bookings keep the schedule steady.
We work with families and with staff at senior communities to arrange rides for residents, including trips that a facility van cannot cover.
A wheelchair should not keep anyone home. We also drive people to family gatherings, places of worship, a graduation, a birthday dinner or the airport. If it matters to you, it is a trip worth taking.

Every wheelchair vehicle in our fleet is ADA compliant. Each one carries:
Manual wheelchairs, power chairs, mobility scooters and bariatric wheelchairs are all welcome. You do not need to transfer into a different chair and you do not need to leave your own equipment behind. If you are used to being told that your chair is too large or too heavy for a vehicle, that is not a conversation you will have with us.
Our drivers are not simply drivers. Each one holds a current CPR certification and a current First Aid certification, so the person helping you into the vehicle is trained to respond if something goes wrong on the way. For a rider who is frail, recovering from a procedure or traveling alone, that matters.

About 72 hours ahead is ideal, because every time slot is still open and you can pick the pickup time that suits your appointment. We are also open for bookings 24 hours a day and we do accept same day requests, so call even if it is short notice.
Yes. We drive between Houston and Galveston in both directions, including trips to specialists in the Texas Medical Center and rides home after a discharge on the island.
Yes. If you ride with us more than two or three times a week, which is typical for dialysis and physical therapy, we offer a discounted rate on those standing bookings.
Yes, when you are heading home between 6am and 6pm. If you expect to finish later in the evening, we usually suggest booking the trip out one way and calling us for the ride home, so you are not tied to a return time you cannot use. Our phone is answered around the clock either way.

No. We are non-emergency medical transportation. We drive people who are medically stable but need help getting to where they are going. In an emergency, call 911.
That happens constantly and it is never a problem. You have two choices. Call us when you are finished and we will send the driver back to collect you, which on a round trip is included if you are heading home between 6am and 6pm. Or, if you would rather the driver stayed with you the whole time so there is no wait at the end, we can do that for a waiting fee of $45 per hour. Most riders on a routine appointment simply call when they are done.
